Another successful Canned Food Drive is in the books! From November 13-20, the collection took place in the third-period classrooms around the campus.
The mission for our Canned Food Drive was to be able to donate a large number of canned goods to the LA Food Bank and the Backpacks For Kids program. The LA Food Bank provides canned goods to over twenty-five charitable organizations, helping to feed thousands of people. The Backpacks For Kids program helps to issue children food to sustain them over the weekend when they aren't receiving school-provided meals.
The week-long collection was extremely successful and Service Learning Leadership was able to donate 6,000 cans and 100 various packaged items.
